Design Process
Part of - Process: Blending Tradition and Innovation
|
My designs are created specifically for you and your environment. The process begins with listening, discussion, a visit to the site, or if a building is in planning stages, a review of the architectural plans. A client may have clear ideas about what the artwork needs to accomplish, and we discuss various ways to reach that goal. Once a design fee is established, work begins. At a following meeting, I provide sketches or mock-ups of concepts that were inspired by our conversations. In most instances, one of these concepts hits the mark and is chosen for further development. A rough cost estimate can be made at this time, with the understanding that detail, materials, and other factors will determine that final pricing. |

Images 4 and 5: Glass is cut and laid out on a light table. Painted details (note the grains of wheat on the yellow glass) have been permanently fired into the glass.
